
The warnings were that:

To fix this I had a look at the file and noticed that it was looping through the various sapi methods and running a command. The line in the shell script looks like this:
So I removed the mcrypt extension from my apache2 php.ini (/etc/php5/apache2/php.ini) and now the maxlifetime shell script runs without throwing warnings.for sapi in apache2 apache2filter cgi fpm; doif [ -e /etc/php5/${sapi}/php.ini ]; then
